For the October Art Walk I created five pieces. The theme this month is confession.
This piece is titled Halloween Deception. It is a comic styled story of a black cat who dresses up as a calico cat for Halloween to prevent himself from being hurt since black cats are terrible luck on Halloween. These pieces are just two in a large group creation of paintings of parrots. The whole project is titled Childmind. It was Mrs. Frye’s idea and she created a blurb for them which reads, “As we grow older we tend to shut down and block off our creative dreams and intuitive outpourings. In order to listen to our creative childmind we need to quiet the parrots that sit on our shoulders barking “be careful” or “this won’t end well.”” This piece is titled A big decision. I created it to secretly confess something without anybody except for myself knowing. I won’t go into detail about what it means because I’d like to keep it a secret. This piece is titled 2015. This is somewhat of a mixed medium collage. I used Prismacolor markers, acrylic paints, pastels, pastel pencils, graphite pencils, and Sharpie markers to create it. 2015 was a big year for me with a lot of change going on. Each drawing represents a part of my life that a lot of people aren’t aware of. Once again, I won’t explain what they mean as I would like it to remain secret.
